Licensed NSW conveyancerNSW property only

City Peak Conveyancing acts for buyers and sellers across the Georges River council area, including Hurstville, Kogarah, Penshurst, Mortdale, Beverly Hills and Oatley. The work here splits three ways: apartments around the Hurstville and Kogarah town centres, new duplexes in the established suburbs, and family homes near the river, where bushfire and flood notes are common.

Georges River sits right next to our Canterbury-Bankstown base, so many of the same issues apply, from duplex titles to inherited homes that have been in a family for decades.

Buying near the river

If the property is near the Georges River or bushland, read the planning certificate carefully. It can show whether the land is bushfire prone or affected by flood planning controls. Either one can affect what you can build, what insurance costs and what your lender asks for.

We point these notes out in plain English before you sign, so they do not come as a surprise after exchange.

Buying a new duplex

Many older homes in Penshurst, Mortdale and Beverly Hills have been replaced with duplexes. Before you buy one, check whether each half has its own Torrens title or sits in a small strata scheme. It changes your rights, your costs and who you share decisions with. See our guide to duplex title types in NSW.

Common questions

FAQs

Is Hurstville covered by your service?

Yes. Georges River is next to our home area, and we act on property anywhere in NSW.

What does bushfire prone land mean for a buyer?

It means extra building standards apply if you build or renovate, and insurance may cost more. It shows on the section 10.7 planning certificate.

Can you help me sell a duplex I built?

Yes. We prepare the contract with the right title documents, occupation certificate and builder's insurance details.

Do you come to Hurstville to meet clients?

Yes, by appointment. Most matters are handled by phone and email.
